FAQ - NH Sports Betting Bonuses

Is online betting legal in New Hampshire?

Yes, online betting is legal in New Hampshire since 2019. The license allows up to 5 operators, but due to a complicated legislation, the only sportsbook currently available is DraftKings

Are online casinos legal in New Hampshire?

Online casinos are currently not legal in New Hampshire, but the subject is under active consideration, and there have been bills proposing a legalization.

Are sweepstakes/social casinos/betting legal in NH?

Sweepstakes and social sportsbooks and casinos are legal in New Hampshire, provided that they follow the state's Sweepstakes Law. The law says that the operators must provide a way to receive coins and play for free, without requiring a real-money purchase to get started.

Are prediction sites/apps legal in New Hampshire?

Prediction sites such as Kalshi and Novig are currently considered legal in New Hampshire, but they are operating in a sort of legal gray area. While they are available at the moment, future changes to legislations might make them exit the state.

What's the legal gambling age in New Hampshire?

New Hampshire has a lower age requirement for online sportsbooks than most other US states. Retail and online sports betting requires players to be 18+ years old. The same goes for the state lottery, bingo and pull-tabs. Horse racing and visiting a casino has a requirement of 21+.

Do I have to pay taxes on sportsbook winnings in NH?

New Hampshire lacks a broader personal income tax. There used to be a specific tax of 10% for gambling winnings, but this was repealed in 2011, which means that there is currently no state-tax on gambling winnings in New Hampshire.

Any profits made from gambling within the state still has to be reported on federal tax returns, and you might be required to tax them as personal income in your home state. New Hampshire residents gambling in another state will have to send in the relevant non-resident tax form for that particular state.
