At the moment, only three sportsbooks have been approved for a license to operate in Vermont, which means Vermonters run out of bonus options quickly! Luckily there are plenty more legal alternatives to chose from, both free-to-play and with cash prizes.
Yes! Vermont legalized online sports betting in 2023, and the first operators finally launched in the state in 2024.
No, online casinos are not legal in Vermont, and there is currently no legal framework that would make them possible. There are currently no active bills pushing towards a legalization.
Online sports betting requires 21+ years of age. A recent law also increased the requirement of DFS, prediction markets and social sportsbooks in Vermont from 18 to 21.

House Bill 127 states that 2-6 sportsbooks may be licensed in Vermont. Applicants have to be qualified in order to apply, and then accepted. One was denied due to unsatisfactory revenue sharing terms, another did not submit all the requested documentation, and the remaining three were approved.
There is currently no deadline set for the next round of licensing applications. Sooner or later a new round will come, and the state will most likely see a few more applicants and hopefully new licensed sportsbooks.
At the moment, none of the licensed sportsbooks in Vermont offer any special promo codes. Whenever special offers are available, you will be able to find them at the top of this page.
