FAQ - AR Sports Betting Bonuses
Yes, technically sports betting has been legal in Arkansas since 2018, and the first operators launched in 2022. The market is very limited due to the strict licensing system, and there are currently no independent national brands available. The reason for this is that online sportsbooks in Arkansas have to partner up with one of the licensed land-based casinos within the state. The state casinos may offer up to two online sportsbooks each.
This unfortunately means that players from Arkansas won't be able to visit sportsbooks such as BetMGM or DraftKings. We recommend Arkansawyers looking for a large national brand to check out one of the available social sportsbooks, prediction markets or fantasy sites instead.
As of 2025, only three different online sportsbooks are available in Arkansas. These are the operators that have partnered up with one of the three state-licensed casinos. They are:
- Betly - Partner of Southland Casino Racing
- BetSaracen - Partner of Saracen Casino Resort
- Oaklawn Sportsbook - Partner of Oaklawn Casino Racing Resort
The casinos are able to host up to two sportsbooks each, but they have opted to monopolize the betting market instead of partnering up with any major out-of-state brands.
No, real-money online casino games are currently not legal in Arkansas.
In Arkansas, the age requirement for visiting a state casino or online sportsbook is 21+. Other forms of gambling, such as horse racing, lotteries and bingo has a requirement of 18+, which is also the legal age for DFS, social sportsbooks, sweepstakes casinos and prediction markets.
The current legal status for the different gambling alternatives in Arkansas are:
- Social Sportsbooks ✅
- Social Casinos ✅
- DFS & Pick'em ✅
- Prediction Markets ✅
All gambling winnings in the state of Arkansas count as taxable personal income and must be included in the state income tax return. They must also be included in federal tax returns. Losses may be deducted from the state tax up the amount of winnings, but only if itemized. Depending on the form of residency, either form AR1000 or AR1000S are used.
Visitors to the state have to use the non-resident tax form AR1000NR, and may have to submit the winnings on their home-state tax return in addition to the federal tax return. Likewise, Arkansawyers must declare gambling winnings from out-of-state gambling in their AR tax returns, and may deduct profits already taxed in another state.
